The Sarasota County fire department was called to a fire at Endless Summer E-Bikes on North Jefferson Avenue in Sarasota, just after 12:45 this morning. There was smoke coming from all sides of the building, including adjacent buildings. When crews went inside, they found that the fire was coming from a storage rack where they keep their lithium-ion batteries for e-bikes. They were not hooked up to a charger, but one of them had an internal failure.
