Indian tourists travelling abroad have recently been at the center of several viral incidents, especially involving alcohol theft and liquor shoplifting caught on CCTV cameras. Although these are individual cases and not representative of the vast majority of responsible Indian travellers, such episodes tend to attract global attention quickly and become highly shareable on social media platforms. In this video, we look at some of the recent reported cases where Indian visitors have been accused of stealing liquor bottles from supermarkets, duty-free stores, bars, and other retail outlets outside India. Many of these videos have gone viral, showing individuals putting expensive bottles inside bags or clothing and attempting to leave the store without paying.
